1 Corinthians 9:7
This is from the King James Version of the New Testament
Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof?
or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
The passage means that nobody serves as a soldier at his own expense. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul
was making the point that a minister who gives all his time to the preaching of the Word is entitled to a
maintenance fee from the people amongst whom he labours.
